No Need For a Comeback This Time

Nice to see the Mets bounce back yesterday with a 9-3 win to even up the series with the Marlins. Here are some quick takeaways from this game:
  • We all keep saying it, and many articles have been written about it, but David Wright is on fire. Along with his 4 hits (bringing his Avg to .402) the 3-4-5 hitters (Wright, Duda, Murph) went 10-16 yesterday. It is especially encouraging to see The Duda collect a 3-hit game. I can't wait for his power to arrive once more, although even when he isn't bashing home runs he has a fun swing to watch.
  • It has been fantastic to see Torres fuse into this lineup so well in his time back. He has been collecting walks and getting big hits, and his defense has been awesome to watch as well. He always takes a great route to the ball. Even when it looks like the hit might be trouble, he finds a way there. Outstanding.
  • Very scary seeing RA Dickey's wrist hit by a pitch in the 5th inning, but he's a beast and he went down to 1st and pitched 2 more innings after that. I hope it doesn't affect him from here on out.
  •  When Fox cut to the Clevander and their ladies (a South Beach Night Club in the left-center of the Marlins Ballpark) our buddy Tim McCarver did his best creepy old guy ("Yeah, baby. I'll be heading out there soon.")
The Mets aim to take the series today at 1:05PM on PIX 11. Jon Niese faces a rejuvenated Carlos Zambrano. Let's lock it up.

LET'S. GO. METS.
